This site is dedicated to the memory of Farrokh K. Anklesaria.

Farrokh K. Anklesaria, Esq., was born in Mumbai, India on May 29, 1946. He is deeply loved and greatly missed by his beloved wife, Ruffina Farrokh Anklesaria, M.A., his two daughters, Anahita and Julee, and by his many friends and family. Here we have some snapshots of Farrokh's happy family life, the last 15 years of his life. He was both a missionary, totally devoted to teaching Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation, particularly to offenders, and a happy householder. More than 32,000 people learned to meditate under his direction. He taught under the non-profit organization he established, "The Enlightened Sentencing Project," from 1997. He was joined by his wife, Ruffina, in fulfilling his mission in the field of consciousness-based rehabilitation, given to him by Maharishi. His crowning achievement was the large project he spear-headed in Senegal, directing the instruction of over 12,000 prisoners. Farrokh was a Barrister-at-Law, trained in England, and called to the Middle Temple there. He practiced family law there and lived for 10 years in the UK. After learning Transcendental Meditation, he became a lifelong devotee of Maharishi's. He lived with Maharishi at his ashram and traveled with him around the world. He represented Maharishi as his personal lawyer as well in India. He was Maharishi's Ambassador to nine Heads of State in Africa, and took a great delight in telling the wonderful stories of his encounters in Africa. His father, Khurshid Anklesaria, was a distinguished criminal lawyer. The family lived in Kenya for a few years before his Daddy passed away there when Farrokh was only eleven years old. He had a special affinity for Africa and was affectionately called the "African Lion" by those who knew him then. Farrokh traveled to many countries in Africa and lived for extended periods in Holland and India as well. He also taught TM or traveled with Maharishi to Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Estonia, Russia, Brazil and the USA, where he finally settled down with his mother and his family. Farrokh was a lover of literature and of languages. He spoke six languages: English, Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, French and a bit of Swahili. He and Ruffina spoke French together when they did not want their children to understand! Farrokh enjoyed the classics in literature and was particularly fond of works by Bernard Shaw and Oscar Wilde. He loved good poetry (of the rhyming kind)and delighted in Derek Neville's poems. He felt poetry by Ruffina was very similar to Neville's and he took real pleasure reading her work over and over again. The poems he enjoyed so much were made into a book, "Kavita - Poems of Light and Communion," and dedicated to him. Excerpts of some of these are featured on this website. In the background,as you watch the pictures, you will hear Farrokh on a tape he made for Ruffina as a gift on her 41st birthday. In it, he recites his Zoroastrian prayers and the Holy Tradition Puja, together with wishes for Ruffina's birthday. Farrokh was very prayerful and self-reflective by nature. He spent many hours every day in prayer and meditation. He never wasted time. Even if he were parked up waiting for the family, he would take out his prayer book and quietly say his prayers to himself. It is one of the greatest blessings that we have this beautiful tape of him. His loving heart is poured into the words, the good wishes he makes for Ruffina on her birthday. His wishes came true, and so did hers! Farrokh would have liked to have everyone remember him over a great meal! He was an excellent cook and wonderful host. He and Ruffina had the joy of hosting many of you at their home over the years. ------------------------------- Thanks for enriching the life of my Beloved Farrokh! He carried the light of God in him and took it to everyone around him, particularly to offenders. As you read this tribute, I hope you will smile as you remember the good times you shared with him!
